LAST YEAR...

On JUNE 27, 2009, RIVERFEST was launched in Glasgow, and thousands of people came from all over Virginia (and beyond) to participate in events and activities during the day and evening!

Southeast Rockbridge Recreation & Parks Development Association (SRRPDA) organizers, working cooperatively with the Town of Glasgow, St. John's Episcopal Church, area business owners, many non-profit organizations, and lots of individuals, brought plenty of new people to our two rivers—the Maury and the James—and to our town.

Thousands of dollars exchanged hands, benefiting many of our area non-profits, as well as area businesses. An Appalachian Trail hiker's shelter will be built for thru-hikers with the money raised at the carnival, which was sponsored by the St. John's Episcopal Church and by a 50-50 raffle by the Glasgow Ruritan Club.

Special thanks to photographer Carolyn Bradley!
